Prosthetic Limbs

This paper investigates some of the advances in prosthetic limbs over the past 4 decades and summarizes some of the most significant achievements. It also predicts developments in prosthetics for the coming years, most notably the higher proliferation of direct skeletal attachment, and the use of microprocessor control to allow finely tuned movement.
