A particle name R-type pyocin is a protein complex released that kills and sabotages other bacteria when competing for resources. Most importantly, it leaves beneficial bugs in the gut microbiome. Researches looked into the pre-puncturing and after puncturing of the hole on the cell membrane. By studying the mechanisms of how pyocin can target and kill its bacteria counterpart leaving the beneficial ones, it can bring to light a new age of antibodies.
