BioMimicry Institute – Youth Design Challenge Manager

The Biomimicry Institute is thrilled to recruit for the Youth Design Challenge (YDC) Manager position. The YDC is a hands-on project based learning experience that provides classroom and informal educators with an engaging bio-inspired framework to introduce bio-inspired design and an interdisciplinary lens on science, engineering, and environmental literacy. YDC gives middle and high school (grades 6-12) students a unique STEM experience and empowers them to envision solutions to social and environmental challenges. The Youth Education team is looking for a passionate educator to provide programs that will reach historically underserved communities in STEM education with the practice of biomimicry.

The YDC Program Manager is responsible for an array of education programs and projects that support the Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge and the Youth Education offerings. In addition to management responsibilities, this position also plays a key role in developing, evaluating, and maintaining a wide variety of educational content that serve programs across the entire organization. This includes authoring or editing original resources as well as curating collections of content produced by others to ensure that the Institute’s educational resources and learning opportunities are impactful and accessible to targeted audiences. The YDC Program Manager reports to the Director of Youth Education and works closely with other program staff and external partners/contractors.
