Job Title: Outreach Coordinator and Lead Decal Designer
Employer: Integrative Biology
Work Hours: 8
Hourly Rate: $15.00
E-mail Resume: rjfull@berkeley.edu (cc pauline@berkeley.edu)
Departmental Overview
The HHMI funded i4’s Toward Tomorrow Program focuses on Bioinspired Design realized through creativity and collaboration. Directed by Prof. Robert Full and rooted in IB32, an interdisciplinary team of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates is rethinking what STEM education can be. We believe that STEM education should foster creativity and collaboration, not stifle them. We believe that STEM classes and faculty should support students in every aspect of their lives, and should do their best to counteract the deep structural inequalities in our educational system and society. In the innovation hotbed at the intersection of Bioinspired Design and the Maker Movement, we are working hard to create a STEM class and community that accomplishes these goals. We are looking for students with a strong background in both STEM and Social Justice to help us to take on the built-in exclusion and inequality of STEM education, and build an inclusive and just environment for innovation, creativity, collaboration, and empowerment. If you have any questions, please contact Aaron at aerk@berkeley.edu, and cc Pauline at pauline@berkeley.edu.
