Deep learning is a machine learning technique that uses multi-layered networks to learn how to do a task. Due to the volume of data and complexity of algorithms in the networks, it is often unclear to humans how exactly artificial intelligence learns. Similar to reinforcement training used with dogs, reinforcement deep learning involves human designers setting up a system, envisioning what they want it to learn, giving it information, watching its actions, and giving it feedback (such as praise) when they see what they want. By thinking of training AI systems like how we train dogs through reinforcement learning, it helps researchers and engineers build and better their technology.
