‘Avatar’ style robot takes baby steps in South Korea
The goal of this robot is to be the world’s first bi-pedal manned robot. The design is inspired from humans. It is built to go into areas that would normally be off-limits to people. The robot requires a pilot, so it is like a shell or exoskeleton of a human. The human pilot is like the heart of the machine. It’s like they took the most functional or familiar parts of humans, like the limbs, and constructed a shell of a person without a brain or heart. It’s like a suit of clothes, except on the most extreme level. Clothes are shaped to us and we wear them like an outer shell. This robot is shaped for us to pilot and is also constructed like a protective shell. Will we all have bio-inspired robot suits one day?
